Around ten years ago, I met a lady that inspired me in my life pursuits and walk with God. Her name Nancy Alcorn. Her passion Transformation. Her ministry Mercy Multiplied. http://mercymultiplied.com/
(I encourage everyone to go on her website)
At this meeting, she revealed her heart for girls struggling with issues and how she opens homes to rehabilitate them in the Lord. (She has a 93% success rate compared to the governments 13%) At the time, She was hoping to open a house in OC and I was hoping to be apart of that ministry in some way if they did.
Unfortunately, they didn't open a home in OC, they opened one in Sacramento instead (7 hours away). Well, I continued to finish my degree anyway in hopes to better counsel the youths that I was currently working with at church, and forgot about working for them. LOL Although, I kept thinking and praying for her through out the years and keeping tabs on her ministry.
This year however, God brought back that dream in my life but in a different way. It wasn't to work for her but to get trained by her ministry. Her ministry had a vision of taking the training they do in the home withe the girls and teach anyone who has a heart to help: from pastors to youth workers to mom's and dads.
I couldn't believe it. I always wanted to know their secrets for ministry and now they opened up the training to let everyone know. I was so excited, jazzed, over joyed. I kept thinking and thinking and thinking about it.
Well, when I told my husband about the Mpower workshops, he agreed to let me go. Unfortunately, he would have to play Mr. Mom while I flew away to Sacramento for the workshop. Well, it didn't bother him a bit. I grabbed a couple of our ministry leaders and up up up away we went.
I can't tell you how, life impacting this workshop is and was to my heart and my faith in Christ.
What I loved loved loved is that JESUS is literally the CENTER of ALL things in this Transformation Process. Christ is the ultimate healer.
In the workshops Nancy's Ministry Staff give practical and powerful step of healing Christ's way.
They cut to the heart of the problems and help to destroy the enemies lies over the struggles people face everyday.
How many of us know someone who struggles with additions, self harm, eating disorders and other life altering behaviors?
I know I have met my share of plenty.
But if you were like me, I lack confidence really knowing what to do, what to say, and how to help.
Well, after this work shop, I know have a more organized plan to help with these areas.
I am growing and learning and feel empowered first for my own struggles and hurts, and then to help with my family, and then to my community.
Our team was so touched by the workshops that we are now taking what we learn and starting a college study with the materials.
Nancy wrote a book Ditching the Baggage and has made it into a study guide to teach in small group or one on one settlings.
I encourage you to pick up a copy or go on her website to get other helpful resources for your life and to help in the lives of others.
You too can be healed and be a tool of healing in another's life.
So much good stuff here.
Love it.
Blessings.
