I just walked in the door and sunk down in the chair with a heart full of gratitude. For months now, my children and I have made it a priority to spend time with my grandparents (their great grandparents) and we just got home from visiting great grandma's house.
Although, great grandpa is no longer with us, it's been a pure joy to visit GIGI. I can't even begin to tell you how blessed I've been to watch my children get to know their GiGi, and to watch their GiGi get to know them.
I know that not everybody gets this unique opportunity to build a relationship with their great grands (I didn't), so I am extra thankful that my kids can.
I just wanted to write and encourage you to let the children glean from the older. There is just something special that happens in the hearts of the older when they interact with the younger. It's fun to see my grandma play "Peek a Boo" or play "Knock knock Jokes" or pretend with my children and equally exciting to see them play right along with her. Tonight, my kids had us all in hysterics with their cute sayings and fun antics that they were up too. Gigi said to my "I am so glad they are here. I want them always to come and visit." The wisdom of the older, and the innocent children's heart make for Sweet Memories and Priceless Moments in this life.
I pray we get more and more opportunities to spend with you GiGi. Love you so much.
Now off to bed, esp. because Gigi encouraged me to "rest up", for we know that tomorrow is coming quick and my kiddos will be full of adventure at day break. YIKES I wish they would sleep in just a little. Okay, Off to bed I go. Night Night
