One way I am trying to get through the Bible is the One year Bible Idea.
There are many out there. I have the NTL Chronological Version, the New King James Version, and now the NIV.
I have to be honest, I have never read one of these completely on track through an entire year. I usually start with tons of motivation and then realize, some days I just haven't carved enough time to finish the daily reading. I am not so much concerned about finishing in a year, as much as, keeping up and daily with my devotion time with God.
It's an tool that can help. It's a tool that can discourage if you can't keep up and it would bother you. It's all in your perspective and in your heart before the Lord.
I am enjoying the benefit of reading a portion of scripture, psalm and proverbs to meditate on. It's amazing how God has been using this organized reading to bring a wonderful variety to my time with Him.
Check it out and see if it is for you. It won't hurt if you try.
Here's a helpful Hint
I just used biblegateway.com to listen to the portion of scriptures found in the daily reading.
It took only about 20 minutes.
You can do it. Try to set aside 20 minutes of time to hear the Word of God if it's hard to read for you, as it is for me. :)
