Partially inspired by War Room the movie, partially inspired by scriptures and partially inspired by me. Yes Me. LOL
I've had a habit through out my life to hang scriptures up around my house, my car, the rooms in my house, my kids foreheads (Just kidding), really anywhere I thought best. I love to house filled with remembrances of God's Word.
More recently, I was inspired by the movie War Room. The lady had a room dedicated to just prayer request. HUMMM. I've put scriptures up but never prayers. (I've just kept those in journals). So I took their advice, and I hung up prayer requests. You know it works. When I sit down at my vanity, which is everyday lol, I look up and read a prayer request and pray. Sometimes, I am there a long time, sometimes not, but I really have found it is an effective way to keep the prayers rising to the Lord. So thank you War Room.
Before the movie, I've learned this art from the Scriptures.
You find the passage in Deuteronomy 6:4-9;
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.fn
Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
You see it is completely biblical to do so.
I know I've blogged about it before but it's easy to find fashionable wall hangings these days with scriptures on them. If you can't afford them, make one. I think you will love your house kissed with scriptures. I do.
Lastly, I inspired myself why? because I need to be reminded of things. I get going so fast in the days that I can forget the life outside of my nucleus. Right? I've learned that life can be a whole lot more rewarding when I am not focussed just on me, but others. I love what happened to Job when he prayed for his friends. Just look at what the scriptures says:
Job 42:10
After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes and gave him twice as much as he had before.
Now that isn't my motive to get more (but if God so wants to bless that way I've totally open :)), but there is definitely rewards and blessings for making others apart of your prayer list. You get to see God answer prayers everywhere. Friends are encouraged and families are ministered too.
So today, all it takes is a pen and paper and a little time to write prayers. You don't have to do long exhortations, really just a few words to get your started. Oh and tape, lots of tape. LOL
I hope this encourages and inspires you as it had me.
Blessings.
