Now the God of hope
fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
that ye may abound in hope,
through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:13
fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
that ye may abound in hope,
through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:13
When I first read this verse, I was so blessed. Even more as I come across it, I find it more and more precious to me. Here are some things that blessed me about it.
#1 GOD of HOPE
God is the God of Hope. All our future is wrapped up in this idea of hope. All the promises, all the prophecies, all the preparation for our lives is blanketed in Hope. God is the God of Hope. If He wasn't the God He is, we wouldn't have Hope.
Hope isn't a disappointing Hope because we didn't get what we wanted. It's a living Hope that God is going to complete what He started in me. He who promised is faithful. Our Hope is the assurance of things to come, not an empty hope of a wish. It's strong, secure, it's Jesus.
#2 Fill you with all
I love this concept of filling up. You go to the gas station, you fill up. You go to the store to fill up on groceries. You go back to the coffee shop for a refill. There is just something about being full that is securing.
Have you ever been close to empty in your car? or running out of groceries? or getting to the last drop of coffee? There is an expectation and a moment of understanding that these things are no longer available. No so with the Lord. He is here to fill you up with ALL.
All? He is not a partial God. When He does things, He does them to the fullest. I love that.
#3 All Joy and All Peace in Believing
When we trust in Him for ALL things, He fills us up with ALL things through Believing. The Bible says without" But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
Again we must Believe, He is who He says He is and will do whatever He says He will do. That is why these promises of God are so important for us as believers to hold on to. They keep us in HOPE.
#4 Abound in Hope
Such another full concept: abound. God wants it not to trickle out of our lives but gush forth like a ragging waterfall. Think of trying to put the entire ocean in a jar. There's no way we can contain all that but God can. How?
#5 Through the Holy Spirit
Yes. Do you see it? God lives inside of us and He is the Ocean of Endless Abounding and it is all within us. He dwells in us through the Holy Spirit, so all we have to do is believe and let it come forth out of our lives.
We in our fleshly bodies quench this all too often by not surrendering our emotions, thoughts, and desires over to God's will. We wonder why we are losing hope because we rely on our sight and our timing, when God is out of our time. He is so far beyond this present situation, He has your entire life mapped out for eternity. Every detail of today was known before even creation was created. So
Just because you might not see what He is up to, Trust Him that He is doing what He promised.
God is amazing. So how can we turn our hearts to God? Seek Him and believe that He is a reward of those who do.
Don't let this temporal earth with the temporal issues, get you hung up on today's seeming failures. Hand them over to God and allow Him to open your eyes to the things He is doing in and around your situation. Hope in God. Hope in Him. He is the God of Hope.
He loves you. He lives in you and wants you to live the Abundant Life.
Allow the Holy Spirit to fill you to over flowing in this life through believing.
May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, through the Holy Spirit.
Amen!!!
Blessings.
