and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul
This word Formed is the Hebrew word "yatsar" which is defined in Strong's "Through the squeezing into shape." (Elie Josh and annalee...my kiddo got on my computer). lol Well, when I read this verse I immediately thought of my kids making shapes with their Play Dough. I remember them taking the dough in their hands and squeezing, rolling, and patting it into the shapes they desires. God actually took the dust into His hands and molded man as He desired.
What I love about it, is that we were hand made by God Himself. Of all other creation, it says He spoke Creations into existence but with animals and man He took the dust of the ground. However with man, this verb is used that indicates with His hands made us.Just like a potter with the clay, so has the Lord formed us. Even Job in Job 10:9 that God formed Him like clay. We are hand made by God a Special creation . Isaiah also writes 64:8
Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand
What's the purpose of us as jars of clay?
to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us
2 Corinthians 4:7
What is that Power? The Gospel. That God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in His, should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
We are to be Gospel carriers in this life.
We have purpose. We have a calling. We have a mission given by God, living in us, to reach the lost world.
If that doesn't excite you that you are special, purposeful, and important, I think you should meditate on those truths again.
How should we live?
“Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, Israel Jeremiah 18:4
Let God mold you into what He desires. He has great things in store.
