Oh I just don't want to miss out on an opportunity to spend with this little one who is growing up so quickly. It's been so fun to watch her grow up and get interested in things that interested me around her age. She is on a volleyball team and loving learning the game. I played the game and now she is playing the game and truth be told I am her coach. LOL She wanted me to coach her team so I did.
I love that we share in something together. We might not always see eye to eye on things but I find it very valuable to capitalize on things we do.
I emailed my former coach to see if he was still coaching. Sure enough after 23 years of coaching my team, he is still coaching at the college I played at.
So I took my daughter to encourage her in her future and my mom to reminisce on the yesteryears.
It was a night of fun, cheering, and hanging out.
I got to introduce my daughter to my coach and he said he just might be coaching when she is older and he'll be looking for her. LOL She loved that.
My encouragement is to find something to share together in. No matter how old or young your children are, Stay connected.
I have often heard and seen how teen daughters and mother's don't always have the best relationship but I feel if you start young enough investing in time together, it will carry through those difficult stages of life.
So what do you say, Make a date with your kid and do something together soon.
Blessings.
