What's Wrong with This Dollar?
Subtlety.
I will give you a hint.
"In __________ we Trust."
In this day and age, I think it's important to say, MIND THE SUBTLETIES!!!!
This is subtle but it's packed full of a message; a message that wasn't funny to me.
On one of my kids learning games that we play all the time, my daughter caught this subtlety.
I couldn't believe it when I saw it because we played this game so many times and I never noticed it before. Wow. (should I blame it on my eye sight changing, No just clueless)
Now should I let this through us into alarm? Should I panic? or Should I just dismiss this and keep on playing the game?
In my opinion, although it was alarming, this was an opportunity to catch the subtlety and make it into a teachable moment. Definitely, one to show contrast between trusting in the world and trusting in God.
(Okay, I can't believe the English language; look at the word subtlety. Look again. It just doesn't make sense to me. Even subtleties looks crazy weird to me. I had to stop blogging for a bit just to get my eyes to work again)
Anyway, back to the subtleties of this blog. LOL
Okay so what did I do.
1st Congratulated my daughter on being so keen to pick up on that inconstancy. We then talked about the misnomer of Trusting in school VS Trusting in God. What a discussion!!!
2nd Wrote to the maker of the the game and let them know how our feelings on such a thing.
3rd look at the picture. (corrected the error)

Honestly, I don't know what possessed the company to do such a thing especially seeing that it's not a game about school. After all I told them, if you take so much time to make their money so real looking, what a shame to miss out on such a key component to our Nation's Birth.
This came in very subtly into the home, but when God revealed it, it was once again a chance for our family to talk about the heart of God and the special home we call America.
It would have been much easier to just laugh it off, yet I really felt God wanted me to use it as a teaching experience.
Subtleties are everywhere, and may the Lord help you to see the opportunities to educate your family on God's truths in this world.
Enjoy the Journey
