As a mom, I think one to the best heart warmers are notes from the kiddos. From when they first start to want to spell their name through the time they are writing "Mom" and "Dad" they progress their way to writing their hearts on paper.
Oh, I love every one. Every one tells a story, paints a picture of what's going on inside their little hearts. Some can make you laugh, some will make you cry, some will just surprise you and some will just warm your heart like none other.
Here for my birthday my daughter found it on your heart to write me a birthday card. She knows how much the "tandem bike" means to me and daddy so she took time to express that in the card.
Daddy always sings to me,
"Daisy Daisy answer me true, for I'm half crazy for the Love of you,
though it won't be a stylish marriage, and I don't have money for a carriage,
you'll look sweet upon a seat of a
bicycle built for two." (something like that)
To think, that song has become apart of her association with me. She has heard it, she has experienced it and by drawing it for me, she is conveying her attachment with me through it. Totally connected.
These little papers, these tiny prints, hold such nuggets to heart within.
I love sweet notes from my family.
What do I do with them you might say?
Well, although not every note was kept (boo boo) I do my best to try to hold on to them. There are two ways that I have found that works in storing them: boxes and transparencies.
First of all, I bought the family different colored boxes. Each of us has our own color and each of us get to put inside what we cherish. So when I am in a hurry, I take the treasure and put them in the treasured heart box. (Okay confession: sometimes stack it on the box for later if I am in a real pinch)

Then there is the transparency way. I found a 3 ring binder around our office supplies and I bought a ton on transparencies. Then I simply insert them back to back and pile up the pictures. It's so fun to have them this way because we just pull it out and flip pages, reminiscing of the past, and giggling about our progress in our art and design skills.
Again, I just love these sweet notes.
It's never too early to collect them and it's never too late.
It's just keeping up with the piles to organize is the challenge.
I hope you get some sweet notes today.
Make those memories last for you and your family. I guarantee it will
bring them a bucket of smiles.
Blessings.
