To me I just get a joy by waking up my kiddos with some yummy sweet breakfast smells tickling their noses. Today I made a french cinnamon toast casserole thing, that just filled the house with smells of heaven or christmas or just goodness all over.
I think there is something to smells and memories especially in your childhood.
Can you remember smells of the kitchen as a kid? Maybe those holiday cookies, or pies, or treats, or cider warming on the stove. I love my memories of these types of aromas and I want to create them now for my kiddos to experience. It's actually so rewarding to hear my son wake up and say,"Mom, what's that yummy smell" or my baby say, "I smell something". I encourage you to try it. Even if you just pop in ready made goodness, or warm cinnamon sticks in hot water on the stove, getting the air to permeate sweetness, oh it's great. It also makes for a GOOD MORNING.
You know, now I just looked up Mandisa's Song GOOD MORNING.
I think I will wake up Daddy to a fun song!!! Or maybe just wait till he's kind of awake. Tough Call.
