Seasons of Motherhood
My thoughts and heart on Motherhood.
Let me just say that I think that Motherhood is completely the hardest yet most rewarding venture a woman can experience. I think God often allows us this opportunity to challenge us in our own personal sanctification process (that means He gives us plenty of situations that show us our weakness and our absolute necessity to depend on Him), all the while balancing this by making these days so full of fun precious memories of family.
A silly thing that I like to say is this,
When I was single; I was so righteous and very close to sainthood.
When I got married; I began to see that I wasn't so saintly.
When I became of mom; Forget about it, all my sainthood went down the drain and I realized I was more in touch with being a sinner than a saint. (I am laughing because it's true)
Of course this is just silly, yet the truth remains, Motherhood challenges the deepest parts of our heart and flesh.
Listen another thing I like to say is:
I AM NOT and YOU ARE NOT; PERFECT.
I will say it again: I AM NOT and YOU ARE NOT; PERFECT.
OK one more time I AM NOT and YOU ARE NOT; PERFECT.
(Do you feel the freedom in this place?)
It's okay not to be perfect!!! Really.
We all are in a process of growing as people, in body, in soul, and in spirit. We get weakened by the world, exhausted by the demands, and hurt in the pressure of life. (Deep Breath)(EXHALE) You will SURVIVE. (AMEN)
"We will survive" the song just came to my mind.
And as I was thinking I began to think how important the Mother is in the Motherhood Journey. Sure our children allow us this title but do we really, honor such a position. I know sometimes we as moms can put everything else on hold and simply spend the majority of our time and energy simply for the growing demands and needs of our families. So, if the mommy role is vital for the child and their growth, the mommy's health is vital as well.
I was going to start this website as "Better me, Better them" It's a saying that my dad told me to copywrite. But, God gave that to me in my quest as a mother. As I better myself as a mom, I all be helping them in return. Mommies you are very important and it is important that you take care of yourself. "Better me, Better them" is what I say.

Motherhood is a JOURNEY a FOREVER JOURNEY.
I used to think that once I became a mother that in 18 years that it would be over. OH SO WRONG Danielson (from Karate Kid). Once you become a mother; you are always a mother. No matter the length of this journey, the heart of the mother is forever impressed. (I've known women who have had the tragic experience of losing their babies invitro, others at birth, and others at different ages a long the way) I believe upon conception a women's heart is forever changed. I also, believe that those women who adopt, and or who care for children also have a similar change in their heart towards this new life of being a mother.
All that to say, it's a life long forever journey for us.

Seasons of Motherhood
Awhile back, I was a leader of a mommies group. We met at a coffee shop and had a time of encouragement and refreshment. It was so fun. As I began to prepare studies for every time we met, I began to think of motherhood in a patter of seasons. This helped me to see that as a mother I will be facing different obstacles and experiences at the difference seasons that God would have me in. I began to explore this idea and began to have fun with my group exploring these together.
I also want to revisit these ideas with you in a bit; i've got my kiddos literally playing with my feet right now demanding my attention. So when I can I will get back to this point. Until then, (ouch she's really pushing at me now) Enjoy your Journey...
