In the LORD I put my trust;
How can you say to my soul,
“Flee as a bird to your mountain”?
Psa 11:2
For look! The wicked bend their bow,
They make ready their arrow on the string,
That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.
Psa 11:3
If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?
Psa 11:4
The LORD is in His holy temple,
The LORD’s throne is in heaven;
His eyes behold,
His eyelids test the sons of men.
Psa 11:5
The LORD tests the righteous,
But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
Psa 11:6
Upon the wicked He will rain coals;
Fire and brimstone and a burning wind
Shall be the portion of their cup.
Psa 11:7
For the LORD is righteous,
He loves righteousness;
His countenance beholds the upright
Your Thoughts
Read that verse over again.
It could even be a phrase.
No matter if it's one verse, one phrase, or one single word, Stop and think
about it for just a minute.
2. Why do you think you like it?
Have you been experiencing something in your life that resonated with this verse?
Possibly, Right?
3. That's the Word speaking to you.
4. Pray and Thank God for this revelation and ask Him to make it clear how He wants to use it in your life
My Thoughts
I think it's always a good idea to get a heavenly perspective in life. Here in this Psalm it talks about the Lord being on His throne in heaven. God is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and His rule and reign is Supreme. I love to remind myself that He is in control.
I like what my gramps said when He got cancer. He encouraged,
"If God is allowing this in my life, then God has a reason for it."
He looked to the throne of God for a heavenly perspective and was able to endure through the battle because he trusted in God's authority.
God watches from Heaven the works of man, What does He see when His eye gaze on you?
Are you being pleasing to Him? He is the King, worship Him.
VS5 In this day and age people are all about using the term "haters" in regards to people whose belief are contrary to theirs. It's a very unfounded term that really isn't being used properly. However, when God says He hates something, it's a good idea to pay attention to what it is He hates.
God is completely justified to hate. He is God. Some people think only on the Love side of God, however, there is more fascist to God then that. One thing is that He hates wickedness. Other things the Psalmist says that he hates Proverbs 6:16-19
There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
Look at those things that God hates.
That's what the Word of God says.
I believe that is were the fear of the Lord begins; it begins with a healthy understanding of what God hates and a comittment to stay clear of these things.
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverse mouth I hate Proverbs 8:13
We need to be reminded that God is Holy God. He must be reverenced according to His way, and His standards. All too often today people want to make God politically correct, however, I think that is a big misunderstanding.
God is far above humanity, He reigns supreme on high, and will have the final say when it comes to the outcome of this world.
When I think of the Holiness of God, and understand that no sin can stand in His presence, it makes me so much more appreciative of what Jesus did on the cross for us. If it wasn't for God, how could we approach His throne of Grace, we couldn't.
Jesus came to be the mediator between God and man, and through Him we are able to be a friend and and Child of God.
He no longer sees me through the lens of sin, but the lens of Jesus.
Amazing Grace.
Let's allow this day to examine where we are in the light of God's standards, and run to His throne to find the Grace and Mercy for all things we need today.
Blessings
