To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt,
They have done abominable works,
There is none who does good.
Psa 14:2
The LORD looks down from heaven upon the children of men,
To see if there are any who understand, who seek God.
Psa 14:3
They have all turned aside,
They have together become corrupt;
There is none who does good,
No, not one.
Psa 14:4
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
Who eat up my people as they eat bread,
And do not call on the LORD?
Psa 14:5
There they are in great fear,
For God is with the generation of the righteous.
Psa 14:6
You shame the counsel of the poor,
But the LORD is his refuge.
Psa 14:7
Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion!
When the LORD brings back the captivity of His people,
Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.
The fool has said in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt,
They have done abominable works,
There is none who does good.

Your Thoughts
1.Looking over this Psalm, was there a particular verse that you liked?
Read that verse over again.
It could even be a phrase.
No matter if it's one verse, one phrase, or one single word, Stop and think
about it for just a minute.
2. Why do you think you like it?
Have you been experiencing something in your life that resonated with this verse?
Possibly, Right?
3. That's the Word speaking to you.
4. Pray and Thank God for this revelation and ask Him to make it clear how He wants to use it in your life

My Thoughts
I love this Psalm so much. It's one I quote often.
Living in the world it might be intimidating when we are confronted with scholars that oppose Biblical teaching. I remember being in College and most of the professors bashed on Jesus in some form or another. However, I would always go back to this verse, "A fool has said in His heart, there is no God." I don't care how many degrees anyone has, if they are missing the concept of something greater then themselves in the Universe, they are quite foolish and daft. It doesn't take a scientist to see that there is something greater then us maintaining the Universe. Honestly, with man's limited knowledge we have on live and space, how can one be so quick to say there in NO GOD? Foolishness.
Another thing I enjoy about this Psalm is how it is referenced in the New Testament; it just shows the authenticity of the Word of God. How? Because the Bible being 66 books written over hundreds of years apart continues to have constance through out it's theme and resolutions.
Here Paul quotes the Psalm in Romans...
Romans 3:10-12
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Now, does this Psalm bother you? Does it bother you that you and I are included in that there is none good, no not one?
So many people are basing their lives on the fact that they think they are good? But whose standards are they living on? According to God, there is none that does good, no not one. Why? According to God, we are all sinners. He is the only Holy, Blameless, Sinless, Righteous One.
Don't be discouraged. Our "goodness" is just that our goodness, it's completely separate from God's Goodness. They are different.
I used to think that the more good things I do, the more God would be pleased with me. The more I thought I could earn more of His favor. Yet that isn't the case. He loves me unconditionally.
Don't get me wrong doing good things and acting as God demonstrates is how He wants us to life, but that isn't how we earn goodness with God.
You see God's righteousness is given to us, when we receive Jesus. It's according to Him, it's His gift to us because He knows we just can't do it.
I like to say and it's freeing every time I say it,
"I'm not and your not: Perfect."
We can stop trying to earn these things, and just be thankful that He has given them to us.
Of course we still have our choices in how to live, and it's important to "do" those things He calls us to and behave how He clearly desires us too, but not to earn a status of "goodness".
Rejoice, Jesus paid our debt that we could never repay and gave to us His robes of righteousness so that we can have a personal relationship with Him.
May we all just rejoice to know that as we accept His gift of life and love in our lives, He transforms us, He imputes to us His marvelous righteousness that can never be earned.
Be Free, Be Thankful, Jesus has made a way.
Blessings.
