A Psalm of David.
Vindicate me, O LORD,
For I have walked in my integrity.
I have also trusted in the LORD;
I shall not slip.
Psa 26:2
Examine me, O LORD, and prove me;
Try my mind and my heart.
Psa 26:3
For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes,
And I have walked in Your truth.
Psa 26:4
I have not sat with idolatrous mortals,
Nor will I go in with hypocrites.
Psa 26:5
I have hated the assembly of evildoers,
And will not sit with the wicked.
Psa 26:6
I will wash my hands in innocence;
So I will go about Your altar, O LORD,
Psa 26:7
That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving,
And tell of all Your wondrous works.
Psa 26:8
LORD, I have loved the habitation of Your house,
And the place where Your glory dwells.
Psa 26:9
Do not gather my soul with sinners,
Nor my life with bloodthirsty men,
Psa 26:10
In whose hands is a sinister scheme,
And whose right hand is full of bribes.
Psa 26:11
But as for me, I will walk in my integrity;
Redeem me and be merciful to me.
Psa 26:12
My foot stands in an even place;
In the congregations I will bless the LORD.
Vindicate me, O LORD,

Possibly, Right?

My Thoughts
In this Psalm, David is proclaiming his righteousness. He shares that he has kept himself away from sinners and continues to walk in the truth of the Lord. It seems very similar to Ps 1 where David contrasts the lives of those who walk in the Lord versed those who walk, stand, and sit in the seats of the scornful. I like how David has applied these principles to his life. I like that not only does David write about what to do but practically uses these issues for himself personally.
Practical application is huge for the Christian walk. Just hearing what to do, is really not enough.
Phil 2:3 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure
Did you get that, Both to will and to do it.
It's so important to put into practice what you've learned.
For example: If you learn about being kind to those who are mean, the next time some cuts you off on the road driving, then don't get all huffy, just laugh and move to another lane. Honestly, this is simple but the other day, I wasn't kind when I got cut off, and I ended up being reprimanded by my children. Ouch!!!
God gives us the strength and the tools to live like He desires. You have everything you need through Christ who strengthens you.
Moving on verse 7, seemed appropriate because of this months Holiday.
Verse 7
That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving,
And tell of all Your wondrous works
Here David is in the congregation walking around joyful that he is able to come to God in his innocency. I like that. He then breaks out in thanksgiving and praise.
I think that's the way we should be. After realizing that Christ has cleansed us and washed us, we can freely enter into His presence with singing and rejoicing.
For this Thanksgiving Month.
It's been really fun this year because I have a friend who every day this month we've been texting to each other what we are thankful for that day. (Actually, we are trying to make everyday, I forgot yesterday, opps, but we started up today again.) Early in the morning I got her text, and was so encouraged by it. To start the morning with being thankful really set my heart and mind in the right direction.
Proclaiming with a voice of thanksgiving is such a delightful and uplifting way to start and end the day.
If you are having troubles the month, I encourage you to write down what you are thankful for and write down what God has already done for you.
Don't you think that the Cross is enough to rejoice in?
Need a bit more help?
You can do the everyday what you are thankful for up to Thanksgiving with a friend like me, or you can make a calendar of Thanksgiving, a Banner, a Garland, even a Pumpkin.
That's what my kiddos did.

So fill this month with Thankfulness and Proclaim what great things the Lord has done for you.
Fill your mind with these things, and you are sure to live life with a happier heart.
