A Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son.
LORD, how they have increased who trouble me!
Many are they who rise up against me.
Psa 3:2
Many are they who say of me,
“There is no help for him in God.” Selah
Psa 3:3
But You, O LORD, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
Psa 3:4
I cried to the LORD with my voice,
And He heard me from His holy hill. Selah
Psa 3:5
I lay down and slept;
I awoke, for the LORD sustained me.
Psa 3:6
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people
Who have set themselves against me all around.
Psa 3:7
Arise, O LORD;
Save me, O my God!
For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone;
You have broken the teeth of the ungodly.
Psa 3:8
Salvation belongs to the LORD.
Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah

Read that verse over again.
It could even be a phrase.
No matter if it's one verse, one phrase, or one single word, Stop and think
about it for just a minute.
2. Why do you think you like it?
Have you been experiencing something in your life that resonated with this verse?
Possibly, Right?
3. That's the Word speaking to you.
4. Pray and Thank God for this revelation and ask Him to make it clear how He wants to use it in your life

My Thoughts
Listen to the Song of this verse.
Verse 3
But You, O LORD, are a shield for me,
My glory and the One who lifts up my head.
I couldn't help but just love this verse today. Maybe because it's also a song that I've sung throughout my life, or maybe because last night my family and I went through a painful experience and need to be reminded of God being my shield.
Whatever the reason, it was beautiful to awake to know God is the Lifter of my head.
Did your head hang low today for the things you are going through?
God is our shield there to defend, to protect, to ward off the fiery darts of the enemy, and then lift up your head.
I remember back in my college days, how I learned that just by lifting your head, your body sends messages in your emotions to make you happier. Try it. Look up when you feel down. There are so many verses that talk about "looking up" to see where your help comes from.
This morning with so many sorrows that surrounded me, I thank God that I have a shield to keep these things at bay, and have a faithful God that will bring His Victory for all these things. Now that is a reason to lift our eyes to Him: Our Help in time of need.
May your heart ring with praise today, as you remember that you are shielded and have no need to fear, but can smile and have a heart joyful in Christ through whatever you face today.
When you feel like sinking, Look up. You just might catch God looking back at you.
