Psa 30:1
A Psalm. A Song at the dedication of the house of David.
I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up,
And have not let my foes rejoice over me.
Psa 30:2
O LORD my God, I cried out to You,
And You healed me.
Psa 30:3
O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave;
You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.fn
Psa 30:4
Sing praise to the LORD, you saints of His,
And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.fn
Psa 30:5
For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.
Psa 30:6
Now in my prosperity I said,
“I shall never be moved.”
Psa 30:7
LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain stand strong;
You hid Your face, and I was troubled.
Psa 30:8
I cried out to You, O LORD;
And to the LORD I made supplication:
Psa 30:9
“What profit is there in my blood,
When I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise You?
Will it declare Your truth?
Psa 30:10
Hear, O LORD, and have mercy on me;
LORD, be my helper!”
Psa 30:11
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness,
Psa 30:12
To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

My Thoughts
Although this technically a song of dedication, I see it here as a song of deliverance.
Verses 2-3 speak of how David was healed from something that he thought he was going to die from.
If anyone has experienced prolonged sickness, you understand the ups and downs of the journey. Yet, here David is praising the Lord after the storm has past. When our family is sick, my husband always likes to remind me of all of the other times in the past that the Lord has brought us through to healing. I like that. It's amazing how many times God has already healed. Can that help us to endure through the nights of pain we might be currently going through? I think so.
May you find comfort from God in the midst of your turmoil. Anything is possible even in this hour.
Verse 5
For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life;
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.
This life has so many ups and downs in it. We can be weeping one night and then have joy in the morning. God is constantly helping us, healing us, and bring a change in our circumstances.
On a simple note, my son just finished his football season. It was so exciting to watch, however, we ended up loosing the final game. The players weren't playing to their best abilities and it just ended on a bummer note. I just sat there reflecting on the roller coaster emotional journey we were just taken on. We were frustrated, elated, excited, disappointed, and so on and so on. I literally had to go in the closet when I got home to let off some emotional steam. It was a crazy ride.
After some time, I was able to get more level headed and back into normal life, but it was hard.
In these times, it's so important to not let the emotions rule. I heard it said once said the order we need to be living if Fact Faith and then Feelings. I live that too. It's just hard to control sometimes.
I am so glad that God stays constant in it all. This Earth is filled with massive highs and lows, and we must go back to the God who rides with us all. God understands and is here for us.
Verse 9
“What profit is there in my blood,
When I go down to the pit?
Will the dust praise You?
Will it declare Your truth?
Have you ever thought about how long eternity is? It's a long time. Here David is saying how he desires a long life and to live more of it out here on this Earth. So it seems, whatever sickness he had, he was very thankful to be still alive. He wanted to have more days on the Earth. He wanted to do all he could do here. Once he is in eternity, he reasoned, he didn't think he could do more for God.
I kinda agree and kinda don't.
Yes, it would be good to have a long quality of life here on Earth and do all that we can, but the way things seem to be progressing, boy heaven looks a lot better to me.
I don't know if anyone has noticed but it seems the world is growing more chaotic then before.
It seems to be really ripening for Christ's return. Don't you agree?
I am convinced, that the closer it gets the more chaotic life will get. After reading Revelation, it appears that the world has to go this way to set up for the Anti Christ to rise up. Remember he is going to formulate a Pseudo Peace for the 3.5 year period.
Knowing this, I can see why the world is behaving the way it does, but it just makes me long to be on the other side of eternity. God send Jesus.
However, while God has me here, I do want to do all that I can do for Him. Once we are out of here, there is no going back. This is our one opportunity to stand for Christ, and run for His glory. It's temporal but eternal.
