To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
In You, O LORD, I put my trust;
Let me never be ashamed;
Deliver me in Your righteousness.
Psa 31:2
Bow down Your ear to me,
Deliver me speedily;
Be my rock of refuge,
A fortress of defense to save me.
Psa 31:3
For You are my rock and my fortress;
Therefore, for Your name’s sake,
Lead me and guide me.
Psa 31:4
Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me,
For You are my strength.
Psa 31:5
Into Your hand I commit my spirit;
You have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.
Psa 31:6
I have hated those who regard useless idols;
But I trust in the LORD.
Psa 31:7
I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy,
For You have considered my trouble;
You have known my soul in adversities,
Psa 31:8
And have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy;
You have set my feet in a wide place.
Psa 31:9
Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am in trouble;
My eye wastes away with grief,
Yes, my soul and my body!
Psa 31:10
For my life is spent with grief,
And my years with sighing;
My strength fails because of my iniquity,
And my bones waste away.
Psa 31:11
I am a reproach among all my enemies,
But especially among my neighbors,
And am repulsive to my acquaintances;
Those who see me outside flee from me.
Psa 31:12
I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind;
I am like a broken vessel.
Psa 31:13
For I hear the slander of many;
Fear is on every side;
While they take counsel together against me,
They scheme to take away my life.
Psa 31:14
But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD;
I say, “You are my God.”
Psa 31:15
My times are in Your hand;
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies,
And from those who persecute me.
Psa 31:16
Make Your face shine upon Your servant;
Save me for Your mercies’ sake.
Psa 31:17
Do not let me be ashamed, O LORD, for I have called upon You;
Let the wicked be ashamed;
Let them be silent in the grave.
Psa 31:18
Let the lying lips be put to silence,
Which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
Psa 31:19
Oh, how great is Your goodness,
Which You have laid up for those who fear You,
Which You have prepared for those who trust in You
In the presence of the sons of men!
Psa 31:20
You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence
From the plots of man;
You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion
From the strife of tongues.
Psa 31:21
Blessed be the LORD,
For He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city!
Psa 31:22
For I said in my haste,
“I am cut off from before Your eyes”;
Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications
When I cried out to You.
Psa 31:23
Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints!
For the LORD preserves the faithful,
And fully repays the proud person.
Psa 31:24
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the LORD.

Your Thoughts
1.Looking over this Psalm, was there a particular verse that you liked?
Read that verse over again.
It could even be a phrase.
No matter if it's one verse, one phrase, or one single word, Stop and think
about it for just a minute.
2. Why do you think you like it?
Have you been experiencing something in your life that resonated with this verse?
Possibly, Right?
3. That's the Word speaking to you.
4. Pray and Thank God for this revelation and ask Him to make it clear how He wants to use it in your life

My Thoughts
This is such an interesting Psalm to me because of back and forth of the discouragement to the encouragement that David goes through. It's as if David is walking around with a cloud over his heart, yet he fights to see the sun beyond the grey.
Have you ever felt like that? Has it been a challenge to be encouraged through some difficulties? I know I've been in that place before. I encourage any of you who are feeling this way: Hope in God. Truly fight those feelings with God's Word. How? Maybe write out what you are thankful for from the littlest things to the bi things.
Sometimes you have to declare war on your mind. War on your feelings. War on your thoughts to not take root in your mind. Thoughts and feelings want to rule you. They want to consume you. You just have to resist their pressure. The Bible says to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. In my opinion, this Psalm is a good example of how to do that. When discouragement comes, find something Praise worthy. Turn the down, upside down. Frowns to smiles. It's not easy but you can do it.
The verses that really touched my heart today, where verses 23-24 the end of the Psalm.
Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints!
For the LORD preserves the faithful,
And fully repays the proud person.
First of all, I love that he says Love the LORD. Love the LORD. Every time I read this Psalm this phrase blessed me. Love the LORD. Do we think about how we can love Him? How do we love Him? By keeping His Word, putting our faith in Him, hoping in Him, and loving our neighbor. These are just a few things that came to my mind.
One way that I love the Lord (now don't laugh, this is between God and me) I love to tell Him. I love to say to Him: I love you. Have you spoken those 3 little words to Him today? No matter what you are going through, tell Him that you Love Him. I bet He longs to hear those words from your heart today. I love you LORD.
I LOVE YOU LORD. (Okay so I got you to read the words, now it's your turn to say them).
Read let's say it together: I LOVE YOU LORD. :)
Secondly, I like how David talks about others: all you His saints. David's eyes aren't focused on just himself, he now focuses on others. I've said it once, I've said it twice, I think I will keep saying this until I remember for myself (lol), it's a good idea to try to help and encourage others when you are going through difficulty. Why? because when you give out, the Lord pours into you.
Prov 11:25
The generous soul will be made rich,
And he who waters will also be watered himself
Lastly, I love how the Psalm ends.
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the LORD.
I needed this today. My heart grows weary when I look at the news and hear of all the things that are tragedies in the world today. Fear can sometimes creep in and want to discomfit my mind and soul. Pressure from the world pushes on me. Life can just be plan difficult. However, God is going to change all that. As we keep hoping, keep praying, keep seeking the Lord, He will strengthen our hearts. He will come through. He will finish the work He has started in all of us. He has promised and He will make it firm.
Be of good courage, Christians.
This is not our Home.
Blessings.
