A Psalm of David. A Contemplation.fn
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.
Psa 32:2
Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.
Psa 32:3
When I kept silent, my bones grew old
Through my groaning all the day long.
Psa 32:4
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah
Psa 32:5
I acknowledged my sin to You,
And my iniquity I have not hidden.
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”
And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
Psa 32:6
For this cause everyone who is godly shall pray to You
In a time when You may be found;
Surely in a flood of great waters
They shall not come near him.
Psa 32:7
You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah
Psa 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
Psa 32:9
Do not be like the horse or like the mule,
Which have no understanding,
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
Else they will not come near you.
Psa 32:10
Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
But he who trusts in the LORD, mercy shall surround him.
Psa 32:11
Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.

My Thoughts
Do you have a favorite scripture?
Do you remember when you first received or read that verse?
Well, tucked away in this Psalm is just that verse for me.
I remember the place and event that I first received this verse, and it's been one of my
favorite ever since.
I was on a women's retreat with my maternal grandmother. She was such a delight in my life and this was the first and only time, we did anything like this together. Needless to say, the time was very special and memorable. We had just been dismissed for a little break in the teachings, and we headed back to our rooms. There lying on the bed was a little promise card.
Mine read...
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
It wasn't too long after that time, my grandmother went home to be with the Lord.
Every time I read this verse, I think of her.
Spiritually, I am reminded to keep my eyes on Jesus. As I keep looking at Him and watching for Him, He will guide me.
God wants that intimate relationship that He can just glance at you and you know what He is desiring and does it. That's deep.
He wants our heart so in tune with Him, that we obey even the slightest requests without hesitation. I know I am not there yet, but I desire to be quicker to obey Him everyday.
I think of fancy restaurants that have their waiters standing around the room. They are positioned there to watch the tables with great care. As soon as the water glassed run low, they come and fill them up without being told. The head waiter also gives them signals and they immediately move to fulfill the request.
On the contrary, the following scripture is how shouldn't be.
Honestly, I can be very stubborn or strong willed. Sometimes I have to remind myself to not be like a mule that is digging their heals down. I don't like that imagery and I don't want that to be said of me. Do you? Here's the verse.
Do not be like the horse or like the mule,
Which have no understanding,
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
Else they will not come near you.
How are we with the Lord? Are we able to be guided just by His eyes? or Are we pitchen and kickin to do our own way?
We need to trust Him, and just obey what He is telling us to do. Mercy will surround you.
Keep looking to Jesus.
He is the author and finisher of our faith.
Be watchful and keep your gaze on His Majesty and
He will guide your steps.
