To the Chief Musician. Set to “The Lilies.”fn A Contemplationfn of the sons of Korah. A Song of Love.
My heart is overflowing with a good theme;
I recite my composition concerning the King;
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
Psa 45:2
You are fairer than the sons of men;
Grace is poured upon Your lips;
Therefore God has blessed You forever.
Psa 45:3
Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O Mighty One,
With Your glory and Your majesty.
Psa 45:4
And in Your majesty ride prosperously because of truth, humility, and righteousness;
And Your right hand shall teach You awesome things.
Psa 45:5
Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the King’s enemies;
The peoples fall under You.
Psa 45:6
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
Psa 45:7
You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.
Psa 45:8
All Your garments are scented with myrrh and aloes andcassia,
Out of the ivory palaces, by which they have made You glad.
Psa 45:9
Kings’ daughters are among Your honorable women;
At Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir.
Psa 45:10
Listen, O daughter,
Consider and incline your ear;
Forget your own people also, and your father’s house;
Psa 45:11
So the King will greatly desire your beauty;
Because He is your Lord, worship Him.
Psa 45:12
And the daughter of Tyre will come with a gift;
The rich among the people will seek your favor.
Psa 45:13
The royal daughter is all glorious within the palace;
Her clothing is woven with gold.
Psa 45:14
She shall be brought to the King in robes of many colors;
The virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to You.
Psa 45:15
With gladness and rejoicing they shall be brought;
They shall enter the King’s palace.
Psa 45:16
Instead of Your fathers shall be Your sons,
Whom You shall make princes in all the earth.
Psa 45:17
I will make Your name to be remembered in all generations;
Therefore the people shall praise You forever and ever.

No matter if it's one verse, one phrase, or one single word, Stop and think
about it for just a minute.
2. Why do you think you like it?
Have you been experiencing something in your life that resonated with this verse?
Possibly, Right?
3. That's the Word speaking to you.

My Thoughts
What a beautiful Psalm this is about the Bride and the Bridegroom. It tells of the time coming in Revelation 19 where the Bride (the Church) is ready for her Groom (Jesus).
For us today, I want to take it to the Earthly level and talk about a Wedding.
I love how it starts out describing the Groom first and then the Bride. It reminds me of a wedding were the groom is first on the scene. We look in awe at the groom all in his tuxedo and his companions standing by his side.
Here the groom is described with words like: truth, humility, righteous, grace,gladness, glory and majesty. What a Groom!!!!
These are the characteristics I do pray for my girls to find in their husbands, and I pray this is how my son will be as a groom one day. (Yes this is talking about Jesus, but as a mom I just can't help to pray that their character shines Jesus) Moving on in this wedding march.
Then a song is played and we see the Bride. It says the "virgins" are her companions which reminds me of the bridesmaids. We see she is "all glorious within", dressed in gold, filled with gladness and rejoicing. She is a worshiper and I love that.
My eldest daughter is learning the guitar right now and I am so impressed and blessed to hear her worshiping the Lord all on her own. It's a beautiful things.
God desires us to worship Him. Isn't He worthy of this? Of course.
I have always used this Psalm to encourage young women in their value and worth as God's Daughters: ROYAL PRINCESSES. Truly, we are TRUE ETERNAL ROYALTY. It's not a fairytale it's our reality as believers.
I feel it so needful to ladies and girls to understand their worth is more than gold. To understand how God desires them to have an intimate relationship with Him. I think that's why the Church in scripture is represented as a Bride: it's to be intimate.
Along with talking to ladies about their value, I also talk about their choice of friends. As we see here in the Psalm, the Princess is surrounded by virtuous ladies. It's so important to have good friends. Friends who will worship with you, talk about God with you, and do fun things that will please the Lord. So many ladies are put in uncomfortable situations because of their choice of friends. Oh, pray that your children learn how to make good friends. Teach them, encourage them, be an example to them. It's so needful today.
Lastly, the key phrase that stuck out to me today was:
Psa 45:6
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
I just love the fact that we are apart of God's eternal kingdom. I just makes me think of Chronicles of Narnia's ending. We see the children in their royal garment with Aslan ruling and reign. I am always so excited when I see that scene, for I know one day we will live in a land where God will be ruling His Kingdom here on Earth.
God's throne is forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever.
With all turmoil in the world, I am happy to say that this is not my home. God has made of home for us in the heavens and it's a far better country then this one today. He will come to restore and make all things new. I pray it's soon.
Amen.
I am going just rest in this thought today: God's throne is forever........
