To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song for Alamoth.
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Psa 46:2
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Psa 46:3
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
Psa 46:4
There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.
Psa 46:5
God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved;
God shall help her, just at the break of dawn.
Psa 46:6
The nations raged, the kingdoms were moved;
He uttered His voice, the earth melted.
Psa 46:7
The LORD of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
Psa 46:8
Come, behold the works of the LORD,
Who has made desolations in the earth.
Psa 46:9
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariot in the fire.
Psa 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
Psa 46:11
The LORD of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah

My Thoughts
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Doesn't that picture just say it all? God being the Lion and we are like that little girl.
I like that imagery because sometimes it's walking by faith is difficult.
Althougth we can't see God, He can see us. We are never alone. He is always watching over us. (Ps139)
That's pretty amazing to think about.
God is our help, our refuge our strength. Are you accessing such strength today?
Life is difficult. I don't know how people live their lives without the awareness of God.
God has always been there for me. That doesn't mean that my life has been without hardships, pain, and trauma. It has. However, in all of this, God has been my refuge. I may not understand why these things were allowed to cross my path, yet I know God and He promises to "work out all things for good in my life." He is the only One that can take a bad thing and make beauty out of it. He also encourages us that He will defend for us. He is there every step of the way.
Look again at the picture above. Think about that.
Our response:
Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
Psa 46:11
The LORD of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
There is a lot of turmoil in the world today, yet be encouraged, God will be exalted. So rest in the faith and fact that God is going to fulfill all those things He prophesied and will Rule and Reign on Earth again. It's just these last finally moments that we need to endure while these things take place. We have the Hope and Assurance of Heaven and that's a beautiful thing.
The Lord of hosts (Armies of Heaven) are with us. This phrase is repeated twice. That means we really need to think about this. The LORD of hosts is with us. The LORD of hosts is with us.
When you walk outside today, look up into the sky, and picture the armies of heaven standing guard around you. They are there watching over you.
Look at what happened to Elisha's servant in 2 Kings 6:17
And Elisha prayed, and said, “LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha."
Talk about a Spiritual Host surrounding us. Amazing.
Another example of getting a glimpse into the angles around us is in the Christmas Story.
Luke 2:13-14
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
The heavenly hosts are surrounding us but even greater, the LORD of the hosts is with us.
God is surrounding us; He is all around.
Be Courageous for the Lord goes before you, with you, and after.
Walk in this faith and fear will have no place for your life.
Walk in this today.
Rest in the arms of our God today, no matter what.
Blessings
