Asaph.
The Mighty One, God the LORD,
Has spoken and called the earth
From the rising of the sun to its going down.
Psa 50:2
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
God will shine forth.
Psa 50:3
Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent;
A fire shall devour before Him,
And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.
Psa 50:4
He shall call to the heavens from above,
And to the earth, that He may judge His people:
Psa 50:5
“Gather My saints together to Me,
Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
Psa 50:6
Let the heavens declare His righteousness,
For God Himself is Judge. Selah
Psa 50:7
“Hear, O My people, and I will speak,
O Israel, and I will testify against you;
I am God, your God!
Psa 50:8
I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices
Or your burnt offerings,
Which are continually before Me.
Psa 50:9
I will not take a bull from your house,
Nor goats out of your folds.
Psa 50:10
For every beast of the forest is Mine,
And the cattle on a thousand hills.
Psa 50:11
I know all the birds of the mountains,
And the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
Psa 50:12
“If I were hungry, I would not tell you;
For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.
Psa 50:13
Will I eat the flesh of bulls,
Or drink the blood of goats?
Psa 50:14
Offer to God thanksgiving,
And pay your vows to the Most High.
Psa 50:15
Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
Psa 50:16
But to the wicked God says:
“What right have you to declare My statutes,
Or take My covenant in your mouth,
Psa 50:17
Seeing you hate instruction
And cast My words behind you?
Psa 50:18
When you saw a thief, you consentedfn with him,
And have been a partaker with adulterers.
Psa 50:19
You give your mouth to evil,
And your tongue frames deceit.
Psa 50:20
You sit and speak against your brother;
You slander your own mother’s son.
Psa 50:21
These things you have done, and I kept silent;
You thought that I was altogether like you;
But I will rebuke you,
And set them in order before your eyes.
Psa 50:22
“Now consider this, you who forget God,
Lest I tear you in pieces,
And there be none to deliver:
Psa 50:23
Whoever offers praise glorifies Me;
And to him who orders his conduct aright
I will show the salvation of God.”

My Thoughts
Asaph was a chief musician.
This is a Psalm where God is actually speaking. I love these times.
When God's Words are quoted, I like to take special heed.
Psa 50:10-12
For every beast of the forest is Mine,
And the cattle on a thousand hills.
I know all the birds of the mountains,
And the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
“If I were hungry, I would not tell you;
For the world is Mine, and all its fullness.
This just made me laugh. The Lord is saying here that everything is his. That which we have is the Lords. Everything.
This morning my kiddos were so excited to wrap up gifts for me. I know that they took something that was already mine and wrapped it up for me. They also did this for my husband. So, I laughed so hard this morning because that is exactly what we do to the Lord. We give to Him what is already His. Truly.
I wonder why we attach ourselves so much about our possessions. What you have, has been given to you. Bless God with the things He has given. Keep a light touch. Give God thanks for what He has done.
(Verse 12)
God is self sufficient. He needs nothing, possess all things, and yet gave us everything: Jesus.
The one thing for sure HE loves us.
Think of the Awesomeness of God, His majesty, His Character, His Power, and now think how He loves you so much. It's an amazing thought process.
What a heritage we have in Christ. What a future, What a hope.
Psa 50:14
Offer to God thanksgiving,
And pay your vows to the Most High.
Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
God desires that we be thankful to Him. Not sacrifices but thanksgiving.
I also like how He says to "Call upon Me"
It's as if He is just waiting for us to call on Him. He desires you to worship, to call to Him, to commune with Him.
If you have some time today, I encourage you sit before Him. Meditate on His greatness and His love. In His presence is fullness of JOY.
JOY to the world the Lord has come.
Praise the Lord.
Blessings.
