Psalm of Solomon.
Give the king Your judgments, O God,
And Your righteousness to the king’s Son.
Psa 72:2
He will judge Your people with righteousness,
And Your poor with justice.
Psa 72:3
The mountains will bring peace to the people,
And the little hills, by righteousness.
Psa 72:4
He will bring justice to the poor of the people;
He will save the children of the needy,
And will break in pieces the oppressor.
Psa 72:5
They shall fear Youfn
As long as the sun and moon endure,
Throughout all generations.
Psa 72:6
He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing,
Like showers that water the earth.
Psa 72:7
In His days the righteous shall flourish,
And abundance of peace,
Until the moon is no more.
Psa 72:8
He shall have dominion also from sea to sea,
And from the River to the ends of the earth.
Psa 72:9
Those who dwell in the wilderness will bow before Him,
And His enemies will lick the dust.
Psa 72:10
The kings of Tarshish and of the isles
Will bring presents;
The kings of Sheba and Seba
Will offer gifts.
Psa 72:11
Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him;
All nations shall serve Him.
Psa 72:12
For He will deliver the needy when he cries,
The poor also, and him who has no helper.
Psa 72:13
He will spare the poor and needy,
And will save the souls of the needy.
Psa 72:14
He will redeem their life from oppression and violence;
And precious shall be their blood in His sight.
Psa 72:15
And He shall live;
And the gold of Sheba will be given to Him;
Prayer also will be made for Him continually,
And daily He shall be praised.
Psa 72:16
There will be an abundance of grain in the earth,
On the top of the mountains;
Its fruit shall wave like Lebanon;
And those of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
Psa 72:17
His name shall endure forever;
His name shall continue as long as the sun.
And men shall be blessed in Him;
All nations shall call Him blessed.
Psa 72:18
Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel,
Who only does wondrous things!
Psa 72:19
And blessed be His glorious name forever!
And let the whole earth be filled with His glory.
Amen and Amen.

My Thoughts
This is the end of 2nd section of the Psalms from 42-72. It concludes doxology
"And let the whole earth be filled with His glory.Amen and Amen."
I like that so much. The whole Earth will be filled with His glory. Right now we await this time. Right now we have to wait until all the other prophesies be fulfilled. We wait with expectation that these things could transpire very soon.
Here David was writing a Psalm for his son Solomon, yet very typical to David the Holy Spirit used him to write another prophetic element of the Kingdom Age.
Verse 1
This is a Psalm that David wrote for Solomon. (verse 20).
It's a prayer for Solomon's rule. Yet you can see that it is also a foreshadowing of when Christ will return and rule here on Earth: Jesus in the Kingdom age.
What a marvelous time that will be to have Jesus ruling and reigning here on Earth.
Revelation 21 is a wonderful chapter on this. After the millennial reign this is what is going to happen.
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
I just love reading this chapter. It is so encouraging to know our future as Christians and followers of God is going to be so amazing.
I like the movies Chronicles of Narnia to get a visual of future events. Fantastic series.
Anyway, lets see what this Palm has to say.
Verse 1
Give the king Your judgments, O God,
And Your righteousness to the king’s Son.
I like that David wrote a Psalm for his son before he was going to rule after him.
I love it when a dad really charges their sons to be leaders for their own families and homes.
I think it is so important for dads to play their role in the home. I know society today tries to make the men feel inferior today, but really we need men to men especially in the home.
The godly father figure is vital to healthy growth of children.
Fathers have such influence in their development. Boys need their father's to validate them and give them the approval for manhood. Girls need their dads to dote on them and love on them and strengthen their hearts in life.
I like the Jewish traditions of manhood and womanhood. I think its a great way to make the child put off childish things and go on to man or womanhood.
Here David is praying for his son leadership qualities.
Are we praying for your children qualities that will help them in the future?
The other day I decided to do this.
I sat there looking at my kids as they played and quietly prayed over them specific things for their life. For example: ability to mange their money wisely, ability to discern between good influences and bad, to make them kind and compassionate to those around them, and to have them hear the Holy Spirits voice and follow what it says. These are practical prayers to pray for their future. David took an active approach in doing this for his son Solomon. I like that.
Verse 7
In His days the righteous shall flourish,
And abundance of peace,
Until the moon is no more.
Can you even image that there will be a day where there won't be any more moon or sun. We have them know to gaze upon and to enjoy, yet in the Kingdom Age they won't be needed. Jesus, God Father and Holy Spirit will be reigning so there won't be any need for these created things.
We see this in Revelation.
Reve 21:23
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb isthe light thereof.
And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
We will be walking in God's light.
As I was studying shadows with my kids the other day, I realized that a shadow is our darkness. Without light we are visible. Right now we see each other because, just as the moon, we reflect light. Thus when light is reflecting on our faces, our shadows are the trail of dark where the light isn't reflecting off of. Why do I say all this?
Because God shines light out of His very being. He doesn't reflect light, HE IS LIGHT.
Thus when we are living in His Light, we will have no more darkness.
Amazing concept for sure. Okay I like this kind of brain teasing facts. They are like a gym for my mind. Exercise is good. Yip. Okay moving forward.
Verse 11
Yes, all kings shall fall down before Him;
All nations shall serve Him.
Who are these kings? Here's a hint.
Rev 1:6
"and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen."
Did you get that?
We are the Kings and Priests to God. It's you and me and your brothers and sisters in Christ. When God says that we are faithful in the little things (things on Earth) he will make us rulers over greater things (Kingdom to come).
So often, we can forget this. Right?
Do you wake up and put on royal robes? A crown? Sit on a throne?
No.
Well, that's good because we aren't quite there yet. (And if you did I would begin to worry a bit)
Anyway, we will be ruling and reigning with Christ.
Doesn't that help with things we go through here? Doesn't that make it all seem little in the scope of what is to come?
I think so.

Psa 72:18
Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel,
Who only does wondrous things!
He only does wondrous things. I like to start my day with this thought. Why? because no matter what happens in the day, I know God only does wondrous things. He has my life all under control. He is leading my, His has mapped it all out. I can trust Him with my life, my situations, my future. Life hasn't always been a pretty picture for me. I have been through a lot of fires, but I will testify that God has redeemed it all. He will right the wrongs. He is faithful. He loves us and not only will help us here in this life, He's created an entire new world for us to live with Him forever.
Hold on there, this life is damaged, but God will work it our for your good, you can trust that.
Verse 19
And blessed be His glorious name forever!
And let the whole earth be filled with His glory.
Amen and Amen.
Amen. What else can I say?!? Amen.
Yip Amen.
