To the Chief Musician. To Jeduthun. A Psalm of Asaph.
I cried out to God with my voice--
To God with my voice;
And He gave ear to me.
Psa 77:2
In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord;
My hand was stretched out in the night without ceasing;
My soul refused to be comforted.
Psa 77:3
I remembered God, and was troubled;
I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah
Psa 77:4
You hold my eyelids open;
I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
Psa 77:5
I have considered the days of old,
The years of ancient times.
Psa 77:6
I call to remembrance my song in the night;
I meditate within my heart,
And my spirit makes diligent search.
Psa 77:7
Will the Lord cast off forever?
And will He be favorable no more?
Psa 77:8
Has His mercy ceased forever?
Has His promise failed forevermore?
Psa 77:9
Has God forgotten to be gracious?
Has He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah
Psa 77:10
And I said, “This is my anguish;
But I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High.”
Psa 77:11
I will remember the works of the LORD;
Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.
Psa 77:12
I will also meditate on all Your work,
And talk of Your deeds.
Psa 77:13
Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary;
Who is so great a God as our God?
Psa 77:14
You are the God who does wonders;
You have declared Your strength among the peoples.
Psa 77:15
You have with Your arm redeemed Your people,
The sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah
Psa 77:16
The waters saw You, O God;
The waters saw You, they were afraid;
The depths also trembled.
Psa 77:17
The clouds poured out water;
The skies sent out a sound;
Your arrows also flashed about.
Psa 77:18
The voice of Your thunder was in the whirlwind;
The lightnings lit up the world;
The earth trembled and shook.
Psa 77:19
Your way was in the sea,
Your path in the great waters,
And Your footsteps were not known.
Psa 77:20
You led Your people like a flock
By the hand of Moses and Aaron
I cried out to God with my voice--
To God with my voice;
And He gave ear to me.

My Thoughts
verse 1
I cried out to God with my voice--
To God with my voice;
And He gave ear to me.
Have you ever been in a troubled situation? What is the first thing you do?
Well I don't know about you but I sure think it's pretty good to call out to God.
You see God is living. He is real. He really hears you when you call on Him.
It's a beautiful thing to know that God hears our every cry.
Why? because He has the power to help, heal and deliver.
There is no one like our God. No counselor, no friend, no family member can bring
the help that God alone can. Yes, He can use these people to help aid in the crisis and often times He does, but call on Him first and see just what He will do.

"remembered my song in the night"
You can see the turmoil this one was having. So much that they couldn't even sleep.
It's interesting the other day I had a period of time that my thoughts were keeping me from sleeping. They were thoughts of anxiety and things that really weren't good to think on.
One thing I did was turn on instrumental praise music.
Here the Psalmist talks about remembering the song in the night.
The only way that I got to sleep was to be lulled to sleep hearing the praises of God.
You might try it the next time you have a hard time falling asleep.
In a side note, the next day that I couldn't sleep I heard the new King and Country song on the radio: Priceless. One of the verses was states...
So when it's late, you're wide awake
Too much to take
Don't you dare forget that in the pain
You can be brave, hear me say
I started to cry because I was just the night before wide awake thinking of the pain in my life.
This is such a great song. Click on the link and listen to it if you need to be encouraged about who you are in Christ.
Priceless for King and Country.

This is where the questioning comes in.
I am sure we've all had questions that race in our heads in times of difficulty.
People always have questions and it's okay.
Yet what we do with questions we can't answer is the key to break through.
To leave yourself in the question stage, to me isn't good.
There has to be some point that you are able to relinquish these questions in the light of the God head.
There are some questions I won't get answer until heaven. I am okay with that.
There are some questions that I know in time will unfold.
There are some questions that just lead me down wrong paths.
So after I've done my part in seeking and crying out to God individually with worship and word and prayer with friends,
where else can I turn for help?
Well just like this Psalmist: to the sanctuary.
verse 11-13
I will remember the works of the LORD;
Surely I will remember Your wonders of old.
I will also meditate on all Your work,
And talk of Your deeds.
Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary;
Who is so great a God as our God?
A few things happen in the sanctuary of God. There is worship, word, and witness.
Worship: it is to bring you to a place of seeing God for who He is. Just like the Psalm his questions change from Is and if to Who. He know places his mind of the WHO of GOD. Remembering His Character is an important step in living life. We begin to see how HUGE God is and small our situation.
Word: then the Word encourages and strengthens us in how amazing God is. Here in the Psalmist starts to remind himself of the mighty deeds of God.
When we read the Word, we get the right concept of God. The BIG PICTURE if you will. Hearing the Bible Stories really inspire me that God can do anything at anytime, however He chooses to do.
Witness: Then we have each other to glean and pray with. The body of believers is so important that we stay connected. To encourage each other with God's Word and be an active witness to the testimonies of God is so where amazing encouragement can come from. You realize you are not alone, and that God is working in our lives in the small and the big things.
The sanctuary is a great place to get our minds, hearts, and souls back on the thing of God.
Verse 14-20
The last part of the Psalm is a rehearsal of what God has already done. God's mighty acts are there to inspire us that He is ever present to help us today with our situations. He doesn't change. If He needs to part the waters today, He can. If He needs to remove a mountain, He will. God is an amazing God and can do anything at anytime in our lives.
That's what makes this Christian walk so exciting. God can do anything at anytime.
I love saying that.
God is there to help. Call on Him, He hears and you just have no idea how He will come to deliver, but I guarantee it will be God size.
Blessings.
