As I was thinking about winter time, I couldn't help to think of winter blooms. Winter isn't just about things changing and dying there is actually blooms in the winter. Sometimes, we can get overwhelmed by the amount of cold we experience that that is all we see. However, under neath it all life is still living, things are still growing, and fruit is still working and blooming.
What created this thought was a simple orange tree out in our yard. My grandfather had planted it and it's been blooming ever since. The interesting thing is that the oranges ripen during the cold season of December.
I began to think of all the sweetness we drink. All the good cold glassed of orange juice we slurp down and I realized: life is still going in winter.
I believe that God has caused the orange tree to bloom in the winter to be a refreshment for all of us. Sweetness is given.
There is a winter sweetness that can be found under the cold, over the winds, and storms. Keep your Hope afloat in these times. There is life in the coldest night.
